Jewelry designer Samir Bhansali, who was born in Mumbai, ushers this concept into contemporary life while paying homage to his rich heritage. "La Reina," an assemblage of Art Deco elements fashioned from La Reina's trademark enormous-but-light, laser-cut diamonds, mixes ancient techniques with innovation. Attention to detail is the hallmark of La Reina's innovative, award-winning work. Pieces have no backside; they are fashioned so that they are stunning from every angle. The "Yellow Passion Flower" bracelet from the Art du Jour collection won Town & Country magazine's honors for Best Design in 2007.

 POLLY WALES / INTRODUCTION

Polly Wales studied Fine Art Sculpture before following her passion for jewellery and retraining at the Royal College of Art graduating in 2006. She has bought together her skills as a sculptor, her love of traditional casting and carving techniques and her craftsmanship to create one of a kind pieces of jewellery. Her current collections use a serendipitous approach to lost wax casting techniques married with the rich colours and beautiful cuts of fine gem stones. Polly uses sapphires and rubies directly cast into gold, creating pieces that resemble natural gem encrusted forms, like sparkling geodes split open, or discoveries from the deep. This unorthodox process is unique to Polly and has become her signature style, gaining her international recognition at major exhibitions and in craft and jewellery galleries. She is also selling in numerous stores in the UK and USA. For her latest collection ‘Archipelago’, Polly has elaborated and embellished her signature style creating rich and complex forms with settings that speak of the jewellery of the Byzantine and Baroque periods.
