PAOLA BRUSSINO
Paola Brussino talks about herself:
I wanted to work with carbon, titanium, zirconium and corian with the intention of placing the stones in unusual, surprising and intriguing backgrounds, in order to change the emotional perception and rediscover their beauty.
That’s why I decided to dedicate myself to research work that is based on long years of collaboration with the most renowned brands of high quality jewellery. This jewellery is the fruit of my passion for art, study of materials, handcrafted techniques and poetry.
This project is very personal. The idea and design of each object is born from fascination and the intuition of a possibility. The method to achieve it is a continuous exploration.
The new manufacturing techniques are continuously tested and the properties of materials are constantly examined. It proceeds through hypotheses and questions. How to win the hardness to find a shape. To what extent the lightness may be strained; how to improve the process of pigmentation in order to expand the spectrum of chromatic gradations.
The amount of research is going to give answers that are elegant, simple, natural, light and able to amaze. The beauty of an object reveals itself suddenly, sometimes randomly, after long and hard work on the subject. That’s where its strength lies: in all the time that we used to find it.
